Club physio going out to Australia for the Commonwealth Games
Pilks physio Gary Trueman will be heading out to Australia in February as the physio for England’s rugby league team in the Commonwealth Games.
The weekend long tournament will involve a lot of this countries amateur players as well as Super League Academy players.
The tournament is a 9 a side tournament and Trueman said: “I don’t know why we don’t utilise this format more in our country. You see it in the NRL and they make it a spectacle.”
The England players may not have the experience in this format as Australia or New Zealand, but will be facing many other countries with little or no experience, like Canada.
The tournament will take place in February in Queensland.
