Three wins out of five in July, then won every game until the end of the regular season

July was a big month for Pilks, with games running out between then and the playoffs.
It started with a trip to Milford Marlins, a playoff rival for Pilks and it resulted in a 27-6 defeat at the Leeds club.
This defeat would start a run of 10 games unbeaten to end the season and put aside any doubts about the side reaching the playoffs.
The run started with a hard fought 30-24 win over promotion rivals Lock Lane at Ruskin Drive. A 20-20 draw at home to Oulton Raiders would be the last points Pilks would drop all season.
This included a run of four straight away victories against Skirlaugh, York Acorn, Shaw Cross Sharks and Bradford Dudley Hill.
They then ended the regular season with two big wins against promotion rivals Featherstone Lions and Leigh Miners Rangers, revenging their defeats against the pair to start the season, sandwiched in-between these wins was a win at relegation Ince Rose Bridge.
Pilks started July in eighth position and in serious danger of missing out on the playoffs, but they recovered to finish fourth at the end of the regular season, and what's more, a home playoff.
Sadly though, they couldnt make the home advantage count as they faced the last team to beat them, in Milford Marlins at Ruskin Drive. However, it was the Marlins who were victoroius 29-18.
There is plenty to build on coming into the new season, come and support us in our journey to get back into the NCL Premier!
