What can we say about todays game but.. WOW! What a fantastic performance by the whole team!

On another bitter Sunday morning the Pilks squad again turned out in force to face an enthusiastic Golborne side.

Starting lineup this week of Aaron, Josh T, Jack, Charlie, Sam,Cameron,Max,Rebecca and Josh B took their places. Captains for todays match in the forwards Charlie Swift, and the backs represented by Joshua Burton.

From the start Pilks took the game to Golborne, flying out of the line they defended solidly taking Golborne by storm, their line speed improving vastly game on game.

Showing they have been taking note at training the team worked together with some great set moves and offloads moving up the pitch with each play of the ball.

It didn't take long for Max Tracey to out pace the opposition and get Pilks first try of the match.

Another set of awesome defense, Aaron Cranny and Jack Bailey showing their building confidence and running in for every tackle.

Another great run by Joshua Thiselton brought the ball close to the Pilks line, and Cameron Cranny powered over for Pilks second try.

Fantastic support play by Charlie Swift and Joshua Burton put the Golborne team to work and they did well to defend the set.

Change over meant all the players except Charlie and Max having a well earned break.

From the start Reece Boadey had a fabulous game, his tackling was awesome and he was rewarded with the next try of the match. Jacob Wilding showed how much his game has improved, spotting a gap in the Golborne defense and powering over for the next Pilks try.

Daniel Tabern with his awesome speed finished the scoring in the first half and Pilks went in 5-0 up.

With Reece and Kyle stopping on the rest of the team took a break starting the second half and gave the original lineup chance to get back on.

Golborne however weren't going to back down and started off the second half in determined spirit, despite great tackling powered across and opened the scoring.

That made the Pilks team all the more determined, a great off load to Max Tracey and he was over again for Pilks.

Big tackles in the next few sets by Sam Caddick, Joshua Thiselton, Kyle Prescot and especially Ethan Moore who again tackled everyone moving kept the Golborne side at bay.

Daniel Tabern put his foot down again.. speeding over for Pilks, followed by yet another width of the pitch try for Rebecca Benthom, who is having a great season so far.

Golborne never gave up, and scored next, well deserved for the effort they were putting in!

Joshua Burton wasn't to be out done scoring next for Pilks, Daniel Tabern following with another 2 tries to end the scoring for Pilks.

Luc Holloway was unlucky not to go over, being tackled close to the line, and Kian Hurst showed an increase in confidence making some great runs with ball in hand.

Before the match Chris and Graham had asked the team to step up the defense, something they did in volumes.

We have to say a big thanks as well to Chris from Golborne, who added a few words at the presentation, complementing our line speed in defense, and how well we stopped their fast players.. it was very much appreciated by the players, coaches and parents alike.

Well done everyone!
