Before the match the Pilks squad had been told that as Bury only have 7 players they would be asked to play part of the game for the opposition, something they did without questioning showing an increase in maturity since the start of the season!
Captains today were, for the backs, Jack Bailey and,for the forwards,Luc Holloway.
The first half saw Kyle Prescot open the scoring followed by Ethan Moore and Charlie Swift. Joshua Thiselton also made an excellent run to be tackled by the line.
Jacob Wilding, playing for Bury got their only try of the match with a fantastic run through his own teammates!
Rebecca Benthom scored one of her usual fabulous tries which involved covering most of the pitch before crossing over the line. Charlie Swift scored again, followed by Max Tracey who unselfishly looked to offload but realized the line was clear and went over to end the first half 6-1.
Second half was much the same with excellent runs from Aaron Cranny and Sam Caddick and further tries from Daniel Tabern , Joshua Burton, Jacob Wilding (for Pilks this time) and Luc Holloway.
Awesome tackling again from the whole team with special mentions to Ethan Moore, Charlie Swift, Reece Boadey, Jack Bailey and Kyle Prescot.
Kian Hurst and Daniel Sutton also deserve a mention for their fantastic support play during the match.
The game was played in the best of spirits, a tribute to both sides. Nice to hear from the Bury coach praising the team at the end of the match, and as Chris said, with more numbers Bury will be a team to watch, as they never gave our guys a moment and put 100% in until the final whistle.
Well played again everyone!
