In a spectacular defensive display Pilks U9s kept a clean sheet against a strong Rylands side

Today we welcomed another new player to the Pilks squad, Thomas Fenton Brown.

Enthusiasm and eagerness to play as a team came shining through today as Pilks put in an amazing defensive performance against a big Rylands side.

From the start Pilks showed they had listened and taken on board the advice given at training, when some great passing almost put Joshua Thiselton in at the corner, only to be tackled just short of the line.

The next few sets called for some awesome defense, with Joshua Burton outstanding on his wing tackling everyone in site. Great running by Cameron Cranny and Max Tracey got Pilks forward, and Joshua Burton was unlucky not to score being tackled close to the line.

Rylands attack then tried the opposite wing, but nothing was getting past Joshua Thiselton and Ethan Moore, and again Pilks great running from Rebecca Benthom and Sam Caddick , with some well played ball from Max Tracey out to the wing put Daniel Tabern in an excellent position but great tackling by Rylands prevented him from scoring.

Pilks weren't giving up, and Cameron Cranny used his strength and power to get over the line for Pilks first try.

More great defense by Aaron Cranny and Thomas Fenton Brown and the half time whistle went with Pilks 1-0 ahead and the game evenly matched.

The second half saw some great moves by Kian Hurst and Daniel Sutton to get Pilks forward, Joshua Burton and Ethan Moore both got close to scoring but it took the speed of Daniel Tabern to break down the wing and score Pilks second try.

Again massive defense from all the team kept Rylands out, both Joshs on their respective wings making sure no one could get through again.

Jacik Bailey worked well with Max Tracey directing the game in field, and Sam Caddick scored his first try powering over in great style.

Another fast try by our lightening Daniel Tabern and Pilks were 4-0 ahead.

Every player then helped each other to keep Rylands at bay, and a clean sheet at the end of the match proved it doesnt matter how big the opposition are, when you listen at training, work together and support each other you can get the results.

A proud moment for parents and coaches alike, well done to all the team today!
