On a warm sunny Pilks eventually had a home game, and what a great game to watch it was!

With a squad of 18 players turning up each player the squad was split with first 9 starting both halves and being replaced half way through by the rest of the team.

Captains today were Jack Bailey and Sam Caddick.

Pilks took to the pitch with Jack, Sam, Ethan, Reece, Dan S, Josh T, Charlie, Dan T and Josh B starting.

From the off it was clear Folly Lane intended to fight hard, and they put in some great tackles. However Pilks held their own, with great tackling on the wings from Joshua Thiselton and Joshua Burton, and some massive hits down the center from Charlie Swift and Daniel Sutton, who was outstanding today.

On every attacking set Pilks played some clever and inventive rugby, with the opening try being scored inevitably by our top try scorer , Daniel Tabern.

More good defense from Pilks and then a great pass from Reece Boadey put Joshua Thiselton over on the wing to score Pilks second try.

Folly Lane however weren’t to be outdone and scored next so it was game on!

With a quick swop the second half of the squad came on with Jacob, Max, Aaron, Kian,Luc,Rebecca, Kyle, Thomas and Cameron taking the field.

Rebecca made some great moves on the wing and once again awesome directing and passing from Max Tracey constantly getting the ball out wide saw Rebecca score a great try in the corner (she could’ve made it 2 in the first half it it hadn’t been for some classic last minute defending from Folly Lane to put her into touch!)

Despite some great tackling by Cameron Cranny, Aaron Cranny, Kyle Prescott and Max Tracey Folly Lane grabbed another try before half time and it was 3-2 to Pilks in a close fought match.

Second half saw the original cast take to the pitch, all were fired up and it wasn’t long before Reece Boadey took a great pass and went over for Pilks first try of the half. Sam Caddick, Jack Bailey and Joshua Thiselton made great meters forward, and in a great solo effort Joshua Burton went over for Pilks. Charlie Swift made more great hits, Dan Tabern , Dan Sutton and Joshua Thiselton put in some great tackles and Ethan Moore went over for Pilks third try of the half.

Change around again and Thomas Fenton - Brown , Cameron Cranny, Kian Hurst and Jacob Wilding pushed forward , with Max Tracey scoring a great try.

A lapse in defense saw Folly Lane over next but Luc Holloway was determined not to be left out and scored again for Pilks.

Not giving up Folly Lane scored again but Pilks effort throughout saw them well deserves 8-4 winners
