In a change to our usual fixtures Pilks U9s today had a 'warm up' match against Ryland Sharks , who they haven't met before due to being in different divisions.
Although Pilks lost the match every player put in 100%, worked as a team and proved they are more than capable of matching any team on the day.
After a short break and some tending to injuries Pilks took to the field against the Whites. Despite just suffering their first defeat for some time, the team started fresh and with determination not to let this game slip as well
Sam Caddick: Sam put in some great tackles, and ran hard at the opposition giving us well needed meters.
Jack Bailey: Again working in the hooking role Jack threw himself into tackles and made some great runs today.
Ethan Moore: Ethan tackled to his usual great standard, putting in some big hits and was the well deserved winner of the Steve Matai Award
Joshua Thiselton: Josh made some great runs with ball in hand, and tackled with his usual enthusiasm on the wing
Aaron Cranny: Improves game on game, not frightened to run at the opposition or throw himself into tackles
Rebecca Benthom: Becca had a fantastic game, she ran well and tackled superbly, well deserved winner of the Top Tackler trophy.
Thomas Fenton-Brown: Thomas has got more into the games as the matches progress, some great runs today and always supports his team mates
Kian Hurst: Also playing in the hooking role Kian is gaining confidence week on week and is not afraid to run at the opposition as proved today.
Luc Holloway: Getting back to his best Lucs speed and awareness of the ball gained him a fabulous try today.
Daniel Tabern: With 4 tries under his belt, and some amazing try stopping tackles Dan was well deserved Man of the Match today
Daniel Sutton: Fabulous to see the massive improvement in confidence, Dan is now showing speed with the ball and is not afraid to throw himself into tackles, had another great game
Kyle Prescott: As always Kyle powered forwarded and broke defense lines, as well as putting in crunching tackles. A well deserved try today to add to his tally.
Max Tracey: Max's direction in the middle of the field is fantastic to watch, his ball out to Luc for the try was outstanding, as well as tackling and also making fantastic runs of his own.
With that said the coaches and parents were incredibly proud today of the commitment every single player showed to the team and each other. They all worked together, with every single one doing their share and beyond.
A huge well done to you all!
