As the U9s season ends , and what a fantastic season its been, Hindley put up one of the toughest battles the red, amber and black s have come across to date.. and a fitting finish it was!
With Pilks having a full turn out for the last game Hindley started strong , a crunching tackle from Aaron Cranny brought the game alive.
Great defending by Charlie Swift and Joshua Burton, but somehow Hindley opened the scoring. Some fabulous play and great passing from Max Tracey to Tom Kilgannon saw Tom go over for Pilks opening try.
Joshua Thiselton, Reece Boadey and Sam Caddick all defended solidly, and made good metres with ball in hand.
Daniel Tabern once again found a gap and his speed saw him cross the line for Pilks. Two further tries by Hindley but some great team work saw Luc Holloway and Rebecca Benthom both cross the line for Pilks and the score was 4-3 at half time.
Charlie Swift, Kyle Prescott and Cameron Cranny powered forward on numerous occasions pushing Hindley down the field . Daniel Sutton made some great breaks, and Daniel Tabern scored another 2 tries to give him his hat trick. Another fabulous try from Tom Kilgannon completed Pilks scoring.
Jack Bailey pushed his way through the Hindley squad, Ethan Moore and Jacob Wilding put in some strong tackles. Every player found it tough but they all gave 100%.
A draw was a fitting result for the effort put in by both teams to finish the season on a high.
