Pilks Recs U9's Vs Langworthy Reds U9's

A great game of rugby league this morning, between two evenly matched sides.
Before the match both sets of players, coaches and parents, observed a minutes silence in memory of Blackbrook Royals player, Harrison Ledsham.
Firstly, I would like to thank Langworthy for lending us a player to even up the teams. Bobby played excellently, and did Langworthy proud.
In the first half, two evenly matched teams fought very hard for a 3-3 scoreline .Pilks try's coming from Codey Massam, Logan King, and Jake Abel. All three scored from deep, with some good strength, and elusive running.
Most impressive though, was the defence shown by all the boys, keeping Langworthy out on successive occasions on our line by helping each other out in the tackle. Exactly what we've been asking for from the lads in training.
In the second half Recs went down 4-3, in what was another excellent half of rugby, made tougher by the loss of Logan through injury. Try scorers for Pilks were Codey and Logan with their second try each. The third came from Kyle Dancer, the latter scoring with a brilliant run, after some superb off loading and support play by the whole team.

Excellent effort today from all the players including.

Liam Coughlin,
who ran as strong as ever but also had one of his best games in defence.

Ross Keogh,
he is getting more confident every week and his off loading was as good as ever.

Keiron Williams,
who tackled really well, and off loaded brilliantly.

Archie Parkins,
who after returning from injury, was first to every tackle and ran well with the ball.

Both Top Tackler and Parents Choice went to Kyle Dancer, who has been brilliant over the last few games, and again was excellent today.
Lastly well done to all the team today, you were great and did us and yourselves proud.
