A much improved performace

A very brave Pilks side showed a lot of courage on Tuesday night, going down 10- 3 against a very well organised , and strong Blackbrook team.
Although the scoreline doesn't suggest it this was a much improved performance on last time these two teams played.
Earlier on in the season when Brook scored with nearly every attack. This game was a much more evenly matched game, with Pilks defending much better as a team, and just failing to get the points that some of our attacking play deserved.

In the first half Pilks went down 5-1, however our play deserved a much closer scoreline .
Our try coming from Logan King , who's determination to break through, what seemed like the whole Brook defence rewarded him with his 10th try of the season. But what was more pleasing was the defence , holding Brook out on our line on numerous occasions. With excellent efforts from all the players, especially Codey Massam and Archie Parkins and Kyle Dancer, who were all everywhere in defence.

The second half , again was very close. Pilks going down 5-2. with our try's coming from Archie Parkins, showing the Blackbrook defence a clean pair of heels to score his first try for Recs in the corner. Our second of the half came from the ever elusive Jake Abel, who when he runs with the ball seems impossible to catch.
for me ,though a few special mentions should go to
Liam Coughlin , who ran as strong as ever , and was inches away from scoring. Also his defence in the last few games as been excellent.
Ross Keogh , who had by far his best game for the club ,really helping out in defence, but more importantly really running onto the ball and making good yards.
Keiron Williams , who is gaining in confidence every week , running the ball in well and tackling players nearly twice his size.
Kyle Dancer , who's tricky running is great to watch and was excellent in defence again.

The special awards today went to :-
Top tackler was Archie Parkins, who seems to be the first in every tackle.
Todays Parents choice award was shared between Codey Massam, who was brilliant in defence, just missing out on the tackler award to Archie.
And Liam Coughlin , who was excellent today in attack but especially in defence, having his best game of the season so far.

All in all a great performance from all the boys today, you should all be really proud of yourselves. I know as coaches we are.
KEEP IT UP BOYS!
