A really enjoyable game of rugby to watch on Sunday morning between 2 evenly matched teams.
A Salford team came low on numbers, but big in spirit , as Pilks lent them 2 players each half to get the game on.
So firstly as coaches we would like to thank Keiron Williams , Logan King , Ross Keogh and Owen Percival for helping out Salford , all four boys doing Pilks proud by playing their best for the opposition , with Owen Percival even scoring a try for the Roosters with one of his trademark, barnstorming runs.
The first half score line was 6-6 with both teams attacks far more impressive than the defence .
Pilks try's came from Jake Abel with 3 superb efforts , 2 of which were great individual runs the 3rd the result of some excellent passing out of the tackle .
Kyle Dancer scored 2 brilliant try's showing some of his nifty foot work to get over the line to carry on his excellent recent form , But the highlight of the first half came when Ross Keogh who got over for his first try for Recs, with a strong run and some great determination to get over.
In the second half both teams fought out a 5-5 score line , again showing some great attacking .
One of the most pleasing aspects of the second half was some of the passing from the Recs team . Which is what as coaches we have been asking for in training.
Try's in the second half came from Liam Coughlin with one from an absolutely unstoppable run from in his own half using his size , strength and speed to carry at least 3 defenders with him .
Three more came from Logan King . One after some great passing from Codey Massam , Kyle Dancer and Keiron Williams . The other 2 after some strong running and determination to beat several players .
Last, but by no means least was a brilliant try by Codey Massam , scored after a fantastic long pass by Codey out to Jake Abel and some support play , seeing him go in at the corner.
Pilk's were unlucky not to come away with a win , knocking on , on the Roosters line with the last play of the game .
Todays special awards go to :-
Top Tackler , Jake Abel with a brilliant defensive effort.
Parents Choice , was a close call this week with so many good performances . It went to Ross Keogh who's confidence is growing every week resulting in some really strong runs and his first try .
All in all a really enjoyable game to watch . Well done boys . Keep it up !
