Home to mayfield

The second week running pilks were down to the bare 9 players and playing a team with 14/15 great players who were well drilled in defence getting out in a line making it hard for us to brake the line. Again like last week we tested their defence on a few occasions getting over the try line but being push back to save the try.

Pilks started off well in attack and carried it on throughout the game with some strong running, great offloads and what we have been asking them to do more of is support play which they did. Pilks seem to let their heads go down when they get a try against them but this week they kept plugging away which was good to see.

Captain today on his birthday was Liam Couglin who ran strong taking 4/5 mayfield players to tackle him every single run he made.
Top tackler was jake Abel with a fantastic display in defence. One tackle in particular when jake got his shoulder in and took the biggest lad down on his own, well done jake.
Parents choice player of the match this week again went to Josh mustard. Josh has took to the game really well, running strong and tackling well.
Ross keogh also running strong this week. Ross has started believing in himself and is improving week in week out.
Logan king and Codey Massam played well this week in defence but what impressed me the most was when they had the ball in hand they were looking for the pass.
Keiron Williams again this week was great at dummy half. This lad is only small but has a big heart, he takes some big hits and gets straight back up and carries on.
Kyle dancer ran well with the ball and was always supporting for the offload.
And last but not least Sam smith, Sam is new to the game but he seems to be taking to the game very well. He's taking the ball in well, never taking a backward step but what impressed me today with this lad was he was the first one out of the line putting pressure on the attacker.

Keep ur heads up lads, well done.
