Valiant in defeat

Sunday Pilk's welcomed Woolston to Ruskin drive and condition's were perfect for rugby league.
Due to our slow start's in game's we changed warm up slightly to try and get the children a bit better prepared and to be fair it seemed to work as it was Pilk's who scored the first try.
Woolston hit back with a try of their own not long after and with good defensive display's showed by both sides point's were hard to come by.
Woolston broke the dead lock not long before halftime with a break away try and the first ended two one to the visitors.

The second half saw Woolston take control of the game with quick tries just after half time, this seemed to fill Woolston with confidence as their line speed and intensity in the tackle increased.
Give our lads their due, they kept fighting to the end and the game finished five tries to one in Woolston's favour.

I would like to give a special shout out to Max Nevitt, Sam Nevitt, Jack McIntyre and Aaron Pinnington who put their hands up to play for woolston and played a little to well if you ask me, you all did yourselves and your team proud.

I would also like to give a special shout out to Nathan Flynn, when he was on the pitch helped increase our line speed by shooting out of the line and getting in the face's of the woolston player's

Captain this week was Carl Grimley who really led from the front with some strong carry's

Player of the match Jack McIntyre gave it his all in both attack and defence for both side's and was the scorer of Pilk's only try.

Tackler of the match Rhys Edwards was great again this week not only with quantity of tackles but with the quality as well.

Parent's choice Ryan Manning bounced back well from losing half a tooth last week and really stood with and with out ball in hand.

with good games from Ben Lynch, Ryan Halsall, Dezi Wilkinson, Rohen Heyes, George Donoghue and Kyle Monteith the future is bright for this team.

Well Done keep it up.
