Under 8’s first match of the season welcomed Thatto Heath crusaders to a great game this Sunday.
First quarter shows great strength from Jacob Roylance and strong running from Charlie Parry with 3 tries for pilks from Callum Macdonald.
In the second quarter Logan Beckett and Jake Abbott used their great speed to make yards and Ademide Adejumo scored Pilks fourth try.
Thatto Heath stood strong and gave some great defence leading us to break even at the end of the second quarter.
Lewis Mather-Marshall shown some great defence for his first game for Pilks and Ted Parkinson-Hill also made some excellent tackles which put Thatto in touch on a few occasions. Adam Pilkington and Aaron Woodward stood strong throughout the game and shown great commitment and character.
During the third quarter Callum Macdonald gave a great hand off to sam Parlett-Rafferty who then went on to score in the corner, but Thatto still went ahead.
Thatto was the stronger team in the last quarter although Ademide Adejumo made a great run scoring Pilks 5th try. Ellis Gauchwin stopped Thatto from scoring 2 tries by tackling into touch just before the try line.
Callum Macdonald pushed through Thatto and made his fourth try.
Overall both teams played an excellent game of rugby making it very enjoyable to watch .
