Pilkington Recs Reds Vs Leigh East Warriors U9s

A tough match was on the cards today for the Recs, filled with big hits and strong runs from the get go.
Jack dixon took the lead early on in the first half with a brilliant run skirting down his wing proving to be too quick for the chasing east players.

Defence then took over some great hits and brilliant technique, Charlie Hall tackling everything infront of him straight round the legs and
teammates clearing out anyone left standing.

it was a long ten mins until east scored their first try of the game on the back of a few handling errors from the slippy surface but Ellis Forber quickly replied straight after with his trademark show & go with the defenders too busy worrying if he will pass it rather than him skipping
through the line.

East went on to score 2 more tries before half time managing to get the ball free from some tackles and finding the gaps on our eges and pilks went into half time trailing by 4.

The boys responded instantly to the team talk as East would not score again in the game, the boys talked on how they would improve and put it into practice, Jacob Rigby stood out after half time Working hard in defence sticking in his line and not shooting out which limited the gaps for east to attack, His go forward was brilliant also not shying away from the hard forwards work.

Ellis Forber was able to crash over the line at short distance straight after the break on the back of lots of hard work by the forwards

Charlie Hall got his reward for all his hard work in defence swapping with another player to fill in his hooker roll and use his power to crash through the defence.

Tyler Preston and Kobi Greenall then went on to score for the recs ensuring the win with our defence too strong on the day for east to have any reply.

A really great team performance today by all the boys 1-11 they really worked hard for eachother from the get go and through the tough times when errors got the better of us they didnt let their heads down and responded quickly
