Pilkington Recs Blacks Vs Leigh East Gladiators

Our Blacks side visited Leigh East Gladiators again this week, expectations were high as last week was a great spectacle between these sides.

Leigh started strong and Recs found themselves behind early but came back strong this was end to end from minute one, a great game.

Some brilliant speedy footwork from the Pilks speedsters Charlie Babbs and Ellis Burgess helped Recs bag a few tries. Paddy Hyland led the way for Pilks in defence with some brilliant tackling and workrate.

It was nail biting going into the last quarter, up stepped Mason Melia with his elusive and powerful running to get a crucial try for Pilks taking them level 7-7. Rio Low was carrying strong to get Pilks on the front foot and Charlie Babbs made use of this to find gaps in the Leigh defence a great try from the speed merchant took Recs ahead 8-7.

Leigh came back to level and it was going to the last couple of minutes, Pilks again scored what looked like a last minute winner with Charlie Babbs again dancing his way through the defence. It wasnt until the final set of the game that East managed to level and cap a great game for both sides 9-9. What a game well done boys.
