Recs started fast with strong running and swift hands to see Tyler Preston cross in the corner for the first try of the game.

Pilks Recs Reds first group fixture of the season saw us travel to Leigh Miner Rangers for a tough game.

From kick off it was evident Pilks were up for this one, Recs started fast with strong running and swift hands to see Tyler Preston cross in the corner for the first try of the game.

5 minutes later and it was a carbon copy of the first try to see Preston get his second of the day.

Pilks were superb as the first half went on with strong tackling from Euan Rouski-Lowe and Ryan Cooper, this added to the swift handling skills of Jacob Rigby, Ellis Forber and Kobi Greenall meant Miners were finding it hard to keep Pilks out.

Sure enough as pressured built on the Miners defence Charlie Hall made them pay with fast footwork and powerful running to make it 18-0 at half time.

The second half saw Miners up their intensity with some aggressive defending and running but Pilks matched them toe to toe with Jacob Rigby and Kobi Greenall putting some big tackles in, Miners tried to rial the Pilks lads with ill discipline bit the Recs lads held their nerve and saw them cross for a 4th try.

Late in the game Miners got on top of Pilks with fast play of the balls and strong running seeing there final set end in a try out wide.

The game ended 26 - 6 to Pilks with both sides having a great sunday well done to all.

Best for Recs today were
