Let me begin by telling you that last time we played Moorfield we got beat 72-0 they are one of the best sides in our age group and have been together

for four years. This meant that after some great performances lately the pilks coaches would see just how far the team has come on. Pilks started well playing out there first couple of sets and defending well to keep the Widnes side out. Then after a really good defensive set with Moorfield 5 yards out a lapse in concentration gave the home side the first try of the game. A few months earlier the recs side would have crumbled and stopped playing the entertaining rugby they have been producing of late not now they dug deep and through everything at the Moorfield outfit who's defense was tested on several occasions but stood firm. Moorfield came strong again and recs managed to keep them out until yet again 5 yards out the hooker took advantage when the recs defense again lapsed around the ruck. It was a massive shame that Pilks had defended excellently apart from when on 5th tackles and close to there own line. At half time it was 14-0 to Moorfield a huge improvement on the 40-0 at half time just 6 months ago. The second half saw pilks make the occasional error in attack which ment they would have to defend alot of the second period but this showed just how much the team had worked on defence recently as Moorfield found it hard to break us down yet found it so easy last time round. The game finnished 28-0 to Moorfield yet the parents, coaches and supporters could not have been more prouder of the side as they had shown a vast improvement in there game defensively an area that they had struggled with til late. I personally think if the side keep defending like Sunday they will take some beating in the future as we all know they have the talent to score tries.

choosing the awards this week was extremely tough as everyone shown courage bravery and desire well done :)
