to the bare bones which ment each player would have to play a full game in the blistering heat it was a tough ask. This brought the best out of the recs side with some excellent defending in the first half led by Adam Wale who was having the best half of rugby hes had since joining earlier this year. Saddleworth couldnt break the Pilks side down and with our attacking prowess it was only a matter of time before we took the lead, after some strong running from Adam Taylor and Michael Crabbe second rower Rhys Ascroft burst through to score. Saddleworth came back strong and leveled after some handling errors in the recs half. Pilks replied with speedster Adam Abel adding to his tally for the season and again he converted.

Pilks led at half time but not for long as Saddleworth came out fighting and caught Pilks cold with a score early on they weren't finished their they added another after a mix up after a kick.

Going into the final ten minutes pilks needed to dig deep and it was winger Abel who stepped up to level for the Ruskin based side after a weaving run unfortunately Holdsworth kick was inches wide.

Scores were level at the final whistle with everyone agreeing it was a fair result well done to both sides for their efforts in the tough weather conditions.
