Pilks u10s visited Chorley panthers today with Recs in fine form after last week beating Halton with a superb display.

The recs lads struggled to find the form and class they had shown the week before with some sloppy defence early on Chorley managed to power over for the firt try. Pilks needed to wake up and fast some strong running from the forwards put Pilks in a great position and they where able to level through Adam Able. Adam also converted to make it 6-4. Pilks then conceded again after Chorleys star man and big front rower burst on to a pass to cross for the home sides second and he also showed props can kick as he added the two.

It then took a Lewis Caine try and conversion and Adam Abels second of the day to put the recs side 16-10 up at half time although they hadnt been at there best.

The second half recs improved with powerful runs from Adam Khan, Lewis Caine and Ryan Lockett. After gaining great field position Pilks where able to get back to back tries from Lewis Caine and Michael Crabbe with Tom Prescott and Paddy Edmundson adding the conversions. But Chorley weren't finished yet and they replied with another powerful run from the number 8 unfortunately they couldn't add the two. Then the try of the game as the Recs forwards set a great position for the back line to attack and as the ball went to stand off Rhys Helsby he found the outside and drew the Chorley winger to put cousin Adam Abel away, Adam then showed great footwork to dance past the full back and sprint over the line Khan was unable to add the 2.

The number 20 for Chorley who was outstanding throughout showed his power with some lung bursting runs to score twice and his side added both conversions.
Back rower Rhys Ascroft latched onto a Lewis Caine pass to cross from 5 out and he added the two Pilks had tamed the Panthers and just to top it off prop forward Ryan Lockett steamed onto a pass to burst throught the panters line and all the way over the line to finnish the game off and adding the two he made it 44-26 to Pilks.

Best for Pilks where

The outstanding Adam Khan who has shown real improvement in the last two weeks and he was rewarded with man of the match
Top tackler and unsung hero Jared Orrick again having a good game at hooker
and Most Improved Lewis Caine who showed glimpses of class today
