Pilks Recs 22 - Clock Face 24

Recs welcomed Clock Face to Ruskin this morning. Conditions were dry with blustery winds.
Recs had been looking forward to this fixture and played with confidence and great spirit. The early exchanges were tight and for the majority of the game it was very much a see saw affair.
Pilks initially struggled to make effective yards, however their defence, which the players are taking real pride in, contained Clock Face.
Clock struck first, with their hooker coming to the fore. Next to score was recs with Dan Tabern showing everyone his wheels and raced around all the Clock players for a great try, that Josh Thiselton converted.
The game pretty much played out with tit for tat scoring. Kyle Prescott was next to score, and converted his own try. Dan Tabern crossed for his second. And Ethan Moore was to cross for the final try, that Max Tracey converted.
Again strong performances throughout, with special mentions for Josh Thiselton, who controlled his wing in defence, and was awarded with the big hitter award. Max Tracey with Most Improved, looking strong in defence also, and going forward engaging their defence with probing lines and good ball. And finally Ethan Moore, picking up 2 Awards. Top Tackler & Man of the Match. Ethan, played like a machine in defence and without doubt would have lifted his team mates who followed his lead. Just as impressive was the fact he was playing out of position in the halfs, a specialized position, we had only touched on briefly in training with him.
The captains for today Tom Kilgannon (backs) & Aaron Cranny (forwards) talked post match about how we could have controlled the game a little better in defence. And how good we looked going forward.
