On a hot Sunday morning an eager Pilks team found it tough going against the big, strong Rylands side.
From the start Rylands powerful pack had Pilks pinned on their line, and with the exception of some speedy breaks down the wing that was where Pilks played most of the game.
The much smaller Pilks squad had to work twice as hard to keep the big players out and everyone of the team played with spirit and passion and managed to keep a number of tries from going over the line.
Rylands defence has our faster players marked from the start and despite some great footwork Joshua Burton and Joshua Thiselton just couldn't break through , Daniel Tabern however managed to find a gap and scored a fabulous try down the wing!
Our strong forwards put in some fantastic effort, with Cameron Cranny, Luc Holloway, Max Tracey and Charlie Swift all pushing forward to take Pilks away from the opposition try line and give us a fighting chance. Charlie and Max both powered over the line to score Pilks other 2 tries.
Ethan Moore, Rebecca Bentham, Jack Bailey and Daniel Sutton all made great moves and backed up well, waiting for passes and running strong.
Patrick Buckley ran fast as usual and put in some big tackles, Aaron Cranny again showed how much he is improving coming fast off the line to put in some good tackles and great runs.
Despite the defeat the team can be proud of the determined performance and the support they have for each other.
