Pilkington Recs under 11's Academy result
Pilks u11s 30-12 Portico Panthers.
Today our under 11's entertained a very strong Portico side. In a hotly contested local derby.
With a big improvement in the conditions today . Both sides played some really good expansive rugby league.
Recs started like a house on fire. Scoring three unanswered try's from Owen Walkden, showing the defence a clean pair of heels to going in the corner. Our captain for the day Connor Stubbs with a strong run, and Josh Yates with an opportunist scoot from dummy half, playing at hooker for the first time.
The Panthers hit back with a great try of their own before the break to close the gap .
Half time Pilks 14-6 Portico.
The visitors scored early on in the second half to close the gap to just two points.
That score seemed to spur on the home team, who went on to score three try's late on in the half.
The scorers were Liam Wright after collecting a precision kick from Max Fear. Brad Abbot with another superb run . And finally Connor Stubbs finishing off a superb passing move.
