Pilks Dominate

Recs A showed no mercy this week in their first league match against 'late arrivals' Crossfields A
On home soil, scoring opened early after a well placed kick from youngster Ryan Stevens, was pounced on by Full Back Matt Stafford.
Attacking again from the restart. Recs Forwards had no trouble gaining yards to put Chris Smith in position to crash over.
On the 15min mark, a penalty awarded to Pilks saw Joe Chow power through from 20yrds in what is believed to be his first ever Try for Recs.
Pressure in defence from the young Recs side forced an early kick downfield from crossfields and a good chase forced a fumble on the home sides try line. Jumping at the chance crossfields powered over utilising the heavy set forwards.
After some nitty gritty play in the middle and the away teams efforts to disrupt pilks game plan, the young half backs regained composure which gave centre Brandon Lewis the green light to step his way through for a late first half try, D.Flynn adding all the extras giving Recs a 24-6 lead at half time.

With the second half under way, another early try this time from Veteran Barry Pope as he showed great strength from close range carrying 3 defenders over the try line,
Half Back Josh Dyer was next on the score sheet after a cheeky flick pass from Chow to see him scramble through under the sticks, quick on the attack again B.Pope slips through a gap in the defence for his 2nd try of the match
Cracks in the recs defence appeared around the 60min mark as crossfields where able to break through and walk over in the corner. But the home team responded fast as Chow powered through from 20 yrds out after quick ruck plays in the middle of the field
Cpt Josh Lynch jumped at a chance to get across the line as the little hooker spotted a gap from dummy half walking over for an easy 4 points
With 10mins left on the clock, a blind side play saw C.Smith shrug the defence giving him his second of the match but a quick turn around allowed crossfields to crash over in a final attempt to close the gap.
But efforts where in vein as C.Smith and B.Pope showed off their skill down the right side in a joint effort try for Smith sealing his Hat Trick. With Pope adding the extras in the second half and crossfields adding theirs the final score was 66-18
