Pilks A continued there unbeaten run this week in a much more competitive game against Burtonwood.
With the previous weeks being "easy" games, players and coaches were overjoyed to be matched against a team they knew would test them.

Recs were first on the score sheet this week after a repeat set was awarded, Danny Halsall saw the opportunity to put his team in front with a dummy half dash down the right side and powered his way over from close range. Burtonwood however hit back after the restart, after a failed charge down attempt allowed them to chase a follow up kick and score on their own touchline. With the high winds neither teams were able to add the extras.
On the attack again stepping through the line, Dale Croft made excellent yards with a quick play the ball to let Brandon Lewis run untouched adding his mark to the match. Halsall converted.
Running up hill and into solid defence, the home side were unable to break the line and a forced error payed off for Recs as winger Kelvin Duffy went on to score from a scrum move 50mtrs out. Halsall added the 2 leaving the score 16-4 at half time.

After the break, Pilks were first over the line again with a cheeky flick pass from Croft to see Phil Henry over in the corner. But with high winds and up hill, recs were pinned on their line and the heavy set forwards from the home team were able to force their way way over.
Burtonwood turned over possession up field after landing a man in the bin and recs took full advantage. A well placed kick from Halsall to the corner and a forced error allowed Dave Flynn to pick up the loose ball and dive over the line.
With a man down, the home team still caused problems for Pilks in the middle with good defence, but a quick thinking Gary Philbin, stepped into open space from the pick up and walked over from close range.
In the closing minutes, Josh Lynch made good yards after an interception only to be caught meters from scoring, but fast play across the line, Henry tipped on to Luke Riley after a fine line and finished under the posts, Flynn Added the extras finishing the game at Pilks 34 Burtonwood 10
