Pilks A recover from 12-4 down to claim back to back wins

Pilkington Recs A claimed back to back wins after a second half comeback to beat Leigh Miners Rangers A.
On a day where community fixtures were dropping like flies, Pilks' all-weather pitch came to the rescue in this one. It was one of only two fixtures to survive the weather in division today.
It was a great start for Pilks as they opened the scoring after fifteen minutes thanks to Stu Appleton. The conversion was missed, but Pilks still held the early advantage.
However, they were only able to hold the lead for 10 minutes, as the Rangers managed to find a way through. They made the conversion as well, so the Miners hit the front for the first time.
They would go into the break with a two try advantage as they grabbed another try on 32 minutes. They made the conversion again to go into the break with a 12-4 lead.
The second half would start in very similar fashion with Stu Appleton crossing for Pilks. Jacob Cummings scored the conversion to reduce the arrears to two points.
However, Leigh were able to get their eight point lead back just ten minutes later with another try. They made the conversion yet again to confirm their two try buffer.
But Pilks kept on plugging away and they got their reward when Chris Clayton managed to score. Cummings scored the conversion again to bring the gap back to two points.
Just five minutes later, Pilks regained the lead when Jordan Morris managed to cross for his first try of the season. Andy Knapper scored the conversion to reinstate a four point lead for Pilks.
Then Pilks started to turn on the style as two minutes they grabbed another try as Tez Riley managed to bring his fine form into this game. Cummings made the conversion to create a little breathing space.
There was even time for Appleton to complete his hat trick to add a little gloss to the score line and confirmed Pilks' second win of the season. Cummings scored the conversion again to complete the 14 point victory for Pilks A.
Our second team have now recorded back to back victories for the first time in 2019, and will hope to keep their run going when they head on the road to take on Bury Broncos next Saturday.
