A team win 84-14 to avenge earlier defeat

Pilkington Recs A beat Hindpool Tigers 84-14 to return to winning ways at Ruskin Drive.
Pilks took the lead after just four minutes as Phil Riley went over from dummy half. Rob Marsh converted to make it a six point advantage for the hosts.
That advantage did not last long however as the visitors found space on the right hand side and scored through Finnley Goodings. Connor Goodings converted to level the scores.
Then came the turning point as Mikey Houghton scored two tries in two minutes, both were converted by Rob Marsh to take Pilks out to 12 in front.
Then came the fourth try in the first 20 minutes as Hindpool found a way over again as Finnley Goodings once again found a way through down the right hand side. Connor Goodings missed the conversion this time, but their deficit was reduced to eight points.
But there was time for three more efforts from Pilks as Ryan Stevens got off the mark, Houghton completed his hat trick, and then George Hannan got in out wide for his first of the afternoon. Marsh converted all three efforts to make it 36-10 at half time.
An already light Tigers squad was starting to feel the pinch in the second half, and conceded another try in the first minute as Houghton raced through to grab his fourth try of the afternoon. Marsh converted to bring Pilks over 40 points.
Two more quickfire tries then put some more emphasis on the score as Marsh got in on the act with a try of his own, and then Houghton grabbed his fifth try. Marsh converted both efforts as Pilks broke the half century.
As the hour mark approached, Pilks racked up 60 points as Elliot Martin got in on the act, as he got on the end of a hanging grubber kick into the in goal. Marsh converted once more to confirm 60 points in 60 minutes.
The Tigers kept going to their credit, and got their reward as Connor Goodings managed to get over for a try. He missed the conversion, but Goodings had brought his personal tally to eight points.
But then Pilks started to find the gaps as the game wore on. Marsh and Hannan both scored their second tries and Lewis Caine also added a quickfire double. Marsh also took his personal tally to 36 points for the day.
It confirmed a big win for Pilks, who returned to winning ways in emphatic circumstances. They finish the season next week with a home game against the newly crowned champions of Division Two, Chorley Panthers.
