They get up to sixth in the table

Pilkington Recs A returned to winning ways, after a 44-0 win over Wigan St Patricks A at Ruskin Drive.

It was a perfect start for Pilks, who took the lead after a minute. Alex Fitzhenry got the ball, and was able to step his way through the defence to score. Karl Ingham scored the conversion to open up a six-point lead.

Pilks got their second try after just six minutes. Jon Key got the ball, and managed to step through a gap and score. Ingham added the conversion to double Pilks' advantage.

It was soon three tries in 11 minutes, after Fitzhenry got over from short range for his second try. Ingham missed the conversion this time.

Just four minutes later, Pilks added another. Mark Ashton spotted a gap and managed to get over from close range. Ingham was back on target with the conversion attempt.

Pilks claimed their fifth try just before the half-hour. Paddy Edmondson managed to get free down the right-hand side and score in the corner. Ingham was off-target with the conversion attempt.

10 minutes into the second half, Pilks scored again, as Edmondson finished off a slick move out wide. Ingham was again off-target with the conversion.

Just before the hour, it was George Hannan's turn to get in on the act, as he came onto a short ball and went through a gap to score. Ingham was back on target with his conversion attempt.

With 15 minutes left, Pilks added to the scoreboard again. Danny Halsall managed to power over out wide. Ingham could not add the conversion.

The scoring was complete when Kam Ashall collected a kick to the corner and scored. Ingham could not convert.

That result lifts Pilks to sixth in NWML Division Two. They now have a two-week break before taking on Wigan Spring View away from home on 11th September.
