Pilks went over to woolston for our last match of the season.

Luckily for us woolston had brilliant coaches who went out their way to make 2 games possible which meant plenty of game time for all the lads, I would like to thank every one from woolston for making our last game a memorable one!

Every single child walked away with match of the match this week and fully deserved their certificate!

Pilks played woolston as their very first match last season and I remember the lads coming away with a massive confidence knock as they had a loss of 6-1 , it was a game the kids and parents have been looking forward to so we could see just how much the lads have grown and developed since their very first game. I have to say the difference in them was massive and I'm proud of every single one of them who turned up this week and put in a fantastic game of rugby!

Captain today was lewis Taylor, Lewis has had a fantastic season for pilks, going over for two brilliant tries this week and put in a good shift in defence! Lewis has not only grown in confidence he's developing into an awesome little rugby player. We brought first receiver into the game and lewis had a lot on his shoulder for 7 but I wouldn't of done it if I didn't think he was capable, we had a lot of tears and his confidence took a massive knock at first but he soon put it all behind him and took to it like a duck to water, and his confidence soared, he has done everything I asked of him and more, he's made some outstanding off loads, set up some cracking tries and put in some massive hits this season I am extremely proud of where you have come to where you are now and how much work you have put in for your team, you will always be my little super star. Well done Lewis awesome 2016!

Captain today was Shay Varkulis, Shay started playing for us in may and considering he's never bothered with rugby, training or watching, where he has come from at the start to now is outstanding. The amount of work this lad puts in for his team is just superb, he really does give his team his all. He doesn't just push or swing players on to the floor, he goes in first man an wraps the ball up, he can be the first man in on 5/6 tackles every time, to be consistent at that for most of the season, that's some going for a 7 year old child! In attack he's running with confidence and taking the defence on, he's also perfecting a brilliant hand off! To the little unconfident new lad to the brimming with confidence like he's always been part of the team is just awesome, you really are developing into a cracking little player! I'm extremely proud of where u have come from to now and how much work you have put in for your team, you will always be my little super star. Well done shay awesome 2016!

Top tackler went to Leighton Glover, Leighton had a brilliant game today and like he has done for most of the season he was all over the pitch putting in some cracking defence. Also going over for a fantastic try! Leighton is a confident player and put his all into his games, he's a quick learner and takes everything I ask of him with ease, Leighton asked could he play full back so I let him have a go on and off this season and I have to say he's a natural and loves every second of it! When leighton gives me his all he really is an cracking little rugby player! I am extremely proud of you and how much work you have put in for your team, you will always be my little super star. Well done Leighton awesome 2016!

Coaches choice went to Logan parr, Logan gained this choice today for his strong running and his solid defence, also going over for two tries today. Logan is a little lad who the change in him in such a short space is unbelievable, he's gone from a lad who wasn't very confident, always doubting his self. Helped his team in defence but didn't have the confidence to go as first man, in attack he never ran at players he would go down. Now he's a lad who's attack has been superb this season, bringing a forward position to Logan was the best thing for this lad we have ever done, he runs with confidence at players and breaks down the defence, he has a fantastic solid hand off, crashing his way through quite a few players this season! His defence is going from strength to strength and we are now seeing him getting up there and having a good go as the first man, putting in some brilliant tackles this season! I am extremely proud of how far this little shy unconfident player has come, going into a solid, confident cracking little player. You will always be my little super star, Well done Logan awesome 2016!

Jacob Davies, Jacob had a fantastic game this week in defence, making a lot of covering tackles. Also going over for a hat trick. Jacob has had a brilliant season and has put in some fantastic defence, Jacobs attack as been awesome this season he runs hard and confident with the ball and makes some outstanding breaks. Jacob is another child who loves to play full back and has had a go at playing the position and takes naturally to this, Jacob has been a consistent player this season and I'm extremely proud of everything you have done for your team. You will always be my little super star, Well done Jacob Awesome 2016!

Dan Keogh, Dan played half a game for me this week and half for alan, went over for a brilliant try. Dan also put in some fantastic defence this week. Dan loves to play on the wing and can make some cracking breaks, once he has the break there is no catching him! I always ask Dan to hold his line in defence and back his players in attack, this little lad never lets me down, he holds his line fantastically and is superb at backing his players up, he's always on their shoulder on the wing and has taken some superb off loads and gone over some awesome try's this season, doing everything a winger should do, Dan is a natural on the wing! I am extremely proud of all the work you have put in for your team, and you will always be my little super star! Well done Dan awesome 2016!

Ellis Carsley, Ellis had a brilliant game this week, put in some brilliant defence and ran strong with the ball. Ellis this season is a child who wasn't very confident in attack and would stop when hitting traffic, in defence he would never want to hurt players so was always cautious when going into tackles. Ellis now runs strong with the ball and he's taking the players on, he's got a cracking hand off on him and now uses it correctly and gains his self some awesome meters from it. In defence we are seeing Ellis moving up and going in with his team and isn't scared to make a big hit! Where Ellis has come from at the start to now is a massive improvement. From an unconfident gentle giant to a confident solid U7's who always has a smile on his face is just awesome. I am extremely proud of where you have come from to where you are now and the work you have put in to develop into the player you have become! You will always be my little super star well done Ellis, awesome 2016!

Aidan Houghton, Aidan had another brilliant game this week in defence and went over for a fantastic try! Aidan when first starting with us has always been a cracking little defender, in attack he's runs hard with ball. Aidan came to Pilks with a natural ability in rugby and for an U7's only needed to tweak certain areas. As Aidan confidently takes the ball I asked Aidan to start passing the ball for me and I have to say he's done fantastically with this since asking him and he does look to send his team over the line as well as his self! I can't fault Aidan in defence he is a strong defender and puts in a massive amount of work for his team, his covering defence is awesome! To ask a child to pass the ball when they have the confidence to go them selfs is a big ask and I am extremely proud of how hard you have worked on this and how much work you have put in for your team! You will always be my little super star. Well done Aidan awesome 2016!

Josh Larkin, Josh Played half a game for me this week and put in a cracking shift in attack and helped his team in defence, was so close to going over that try line after he made an outstanding break and went sprinting down the wing. Josh has made some massive improvements this season, he now will go in with confidence in defence and help his team. Josh is now noticing gaps in the defensive line and has made some cracking breaks this season. I am proud josh of where you have come from to now, you was an unconfident little lad who always stood back and allowed others to run but now your asking for that ball and looking where you can go before you receive it, when getting the ball your taking the defence on and even trying to step the defence, this has worked a few times already. what is lovely to see is when you make that break how much your face glows as your running. I am extremely proud of you josh, you have exceeded every thing I have put in front of you this season and I'm excited to see you take on next season! You will always be my little super star, well done josh awesome 2016!

Dylan Greenall, Dylan played half for me this week and half for Alan, made a cracking off load down the wing, In defence Dylan was getting up off his line and pushing Woolston into touch! Dylan Is a confident runner and has made some outstanding breaks for his team. Dylan's defence is what we have been working on with him and I am proud of how much work he has been putting into this for his team. We have seen Dylan go over for some superb try's for Pilks this season but what has impressed me is how he will look to get the ball out to his team. When Dylan listens and gets his head into his game he is a cracking little player and I am extremely proud of how far you have come with your team! You will always be my little super star well done Dylan awesome 2016!

Dylan Finney, Dylan played half a game for me this week, Dylan ran strong in attack and helped his team out in defence when needed today. I'm proud of how far Dylan has come this season, Dylan's confidence took a knock half way through the season and he didn't know if was rugby for him. We had a good talk with Dylan and worked on the things that was knocking his confidence and I am proud of how far this little lad has come, he's not only loving every single second of his game he's putting in some solid defence and his attack is as strong as ever, he's looking for the gaps and he's not giving up pushing through that defence and all with a massive smile on his face. Gone over for some fantastic try's for us this season as well! I am extremely proud of how much work you have put into your game for your team! You will always be my little super star, well done Dylan awesome 2016!

Elliott Davies, Elliot put in some strong attack and helped out in some brilliant defence this week! Elliot being our youngest and smallest player on the team I am always going to be just that little bit more proud, not only has he come into a full year 2 squad he's come up against some massive lads. He's took some massive hits this season and took it all his stride. Elliott has made some fantastic off loads and took on board everything I've asked of you. I'm extremely proud of how you have come into a team with a season of experience and gave it your best shot! What ever your mum and dad decide to do for next season you will always be my little super star! Well done Elliott awesome 2016!

Well done to every single child who's played for pilks U7's this season, I'm extremely proud of all 23 of you! We have had tears, tantrums, upset, happiness, excitement and that's just from the parents ha!

Considering we have had such a large squad, we have had our ups and downs and I know sometimes not every one agrees with what me or Alan do, I know mainly me ha, I really do, do what's best for every single child to get the best development and best confidence boost that I possibly can, we have stuck through yet another season together, we have a fantastic set of lads who really have bonded together and have each other's backs!

We have seen some outstanding rugby skills this year and I'm excited to see what the future brings for us as we go into U8s.

Thanks to all the parents, grand parents, auntie and uncles that's brought every single child near and far this season, I appreciate it!

Thanks to Kellie Parr for taking the pictures, you have given every single parent and child some fantastic memories to look back on in years to come, I know how much time and work you put into making sure you get all the lads and all your pictures are perfect! Today Pilks traveled to woolston in the last fixture of the season, we ran 2 games today just to give more game time for each player.

We had a pre match warm up with the team I was given and the players was fresh and prepared!
Pilks lost the toss so woolston elected to start with the ball. On the evidence I seen Pilks was up for it this week!
Our defence was brilliant and on numerous occasions we kept Woolston out and denied them from scoring!
Pilks in the first period run riot with the ball superb passing of the ball to one another defence great and attack! All the ingredients of great team work!
I got to be honest as an assistant coach I went into the game with a cool calm
And collective attitude, I didn't know what was going to happen!
Woolston were always a brilliant side back in my days when I played. Brilliant coaches and set up!
On the score sheet was Isaac Heyes, This lads confidence was on a low and I was talking to him all the way through to build his confidence, taking his run I was guiding Isaac and giving him direction, he took his run confidently did the business breezing through the defence, minimum of 25 meters to score an outstanding try! Well done Isaac!

Harry Williams was also on the score sheet, with two nice try's, this lad has come on a treat, great in defence and support play! Well done Harry!

Zak Atherton, nickname to me as reg, played great in defence and attack. Great support work and this lad shows no fear! Well done Zak!

Ethan Bold, this lad plays his heart out, contributed in some good defence and scored a great try, hats off to him! Well done Ethan!

Joseph Morris, This lad isn't frightened of taking the defence on and did some brilliant defence and support play and polished it all off with 2 nice try's! Well done joseph!

Josh Larkin, This lad gets stuck in and where he's come from two years ago to now he has come on in leaps and bounds!
First off the mark on a couple of occasions in defence and scored and excellent try, well done josh!

Josh Crilly, This lad is a bit of a hand full rough and ready difficult to stop on some occasions, tackles very hard and has a decent step on him, made some very good breaks and scored a very good hat trick, well done josh!

Dylan Greenall, playing half for me and half for Chris, speedy little character doesn't let his team down, scored two greats tries! Main thing he he off loaded to his team mates and defended well! Well done Dylan!

Dan Keogh, played half for me and half for Chris, this lad gets involved with everything, defence, support play and he likes to run with the ball, scoring a great try. Made another brilliant break, just getting caught but made plenty meters for his teams great performance well done Dan!

Dylan Finney, played half for me and half for Chris, this lad had a good game big strong and lethal in attack, contributed in some good defence and scored a great try !

I've got to say all these try's wouldn't of been scored without rhys and Joseph these two players played exceptionally well, I know rhys wasn't on the score sheet he delivered a good days work for his team mates and showed some excellent foot work as usual well done rhys!

Ben looker, Ben did his self proud had a good game did everything I asked of him, ran hard at the defence and tackled well and gained his self some confidence in that game! Well done pal!

Before the game I've got To say I got the lads in a circle and I said let's go out on a high, do this last game for your selfs, your parents, your club and more importantly your coaches and they certainly did today very well done lads great season!

Now I'm going to add my summary for the lads who played in our other game this week!

I have no idea sometimes why I go to all the trouble when I hear comments like "I prefer my child with alan" but then I know why it's because I don't do any this for any parent I do it for your child and they make all these comments mean absolutely nothing, their smiles, their laughter their trust and their development is what makes me love what I do! The saying "if you can't say anything nice then Don't say anything at all" take it on board please!

Zak Atherton, When Zak get his game head on he is a fantastic little player, he has come so far this season. His attack is what is impressing the coaches as he's now taking on the defence and putting in some fantastic meters for his team. He tries to read the game and what the defence is going to next, he has a good little step on him and hopefully next season this is something we can
Bring out and get Zak using to the fullest. You have given us your best this season and I'm extremely proud of how far you have come. You will always be my little super star well done Zak awesome 2016.

Ethan Bold, Ethan has lacked confidence in parts of the season but this is something me and alan spoke about and have tried to work on with him, I think these last few weeks we have seen a totally different lad, he's running hard with the ball and taking on the defence. In defence Ethan is always up there helping his team. I'm extremely proud of how far you have come this season and you will always be my little super star. We done Ethan awesome 2016

Joseph Morris, Joseph is a little lad who being honest has been consistent through out the season, he runs hard with the ball, has a fantastic dummy, cracking little side step that he uses to the fullest and has gone over for some superb tries for us this season. In defence Joseph has been solid and made some fantastic try savers, can't fault the little lad he has played first receiver and done a fantastic job at setting up some great tries. Everything that's given to Joseph he gives everything he has and you are cracking little player. I'm extremely proud of how much work you have put into your games this season. You will always be my little super star! Well done Joseph awesome 2016.

Zack kilgannon, Zack has lacked a lot of confidence this season especially in training sessions, me and alan spoke about how we can help Zack and get him some confidence. When its matches Zack takes to it like a duck to water it was just that confidence to push his self forward and trying new things. Zack has worked hard with us on games days and has superb confidence when running with the ball and has made some awesome tackles.
We have seen Zack go over for some super tries this season! We will continue to work with Zack and his confidence in training and helping him to continue to be the cracking little player he is. You will always be my little super star, well done Zack awesome 2016!

Isaac Heyes, confidence has been key with Isaac this season, we have worked hard with him on his confidence and getting him to run through the defence. He's a little boy who thinks if he runs through he's going to hurt someone and this has been knocking his confidence a lot. I had Isaac in training running through the defence and showing him he can run through without any one getting upset. He was ecstatic to see he could not only break through but no one got hurt! Isaac has took this into his game and we have seen him having a good go at the defence and running a lot more confident with the ball, even seeing him ending the season with a fantastic try!
Confidence and defence is something we will work on in training with Isaac but I'm looking forward to our new challenges ahead. You will always be my little super star. Well done Isaac Awesome 2016.

Josh Crilly, Josh had a break away this season but has decided to come back and played the last few games for us. He's come back exactly where he left off and has put in some fantastic defence even on players a lot bigger than him! His confidence is on a all time high and we seen him end his season with a fantastic hat trick! I'm looking forward to seeing josh back into the team full time and playing a full season for us next year! I'm extremely proud of you coming back and making such an impact for your team!
You will always be my little super star, well done josh awesome 2016!

Rhys Crehan, Rhys has had a brilliant season, he's put in some fantastic defence! rhys has played first receiver for us since we brought it in and he's took on the role brilliantly, he's made some cracking off loads and been a superb team player. Rhys has also ran in some awesome tries for pilks this season! I'm extremely proud of you, no matter what I put you up against you give me your best! You will always be my little super star! Well done rhys awesome 2016!

Bryn Edwards, Bryn ended his season early, missing the last few matches but has had a fantastic season for us so far, making some awesome tackles. Bryn is a really quiet lad and the way he plays you wouldn't think he's isn't very confident neither! He comes every week and gives me his all, he listens to everything i ask and takes it all into his game week in week out! Bryn is fantastic attack and has gone over for some brilliant tries for us this season! I'm extremely proud of you and everything you have done for your team! You will always be my little super star! Well done bryn awesome 2016!

Kieron Manweiler, kieron hasn't long been with Pilks so hasn't played that many for us but he's certainly got stuck. In attack Kieron runs strong with the ball and isn't scared to take on the defence! In defence he helps his team out when ever they need him. Kieron listens to everything the coaches ask of him and brings into his games every week, nothing phases him and he's willing to take on every challenge. Considering some of the lads have had a couple seasons under their belt now you wouldn't think watching kieron that's he's only been here for a few months! I'm extremely proud of you for putting in a fantastic effort for your team! You will always be my little super star! Well done kieron awesome 2016!

Ben Looker, Ben has only played a couple of matches for us this season so far but he's eager to learn and excited to get stuck in with his team. He runs strong with the ball and isn't scared to have a good go at the defence! In defence he helps his team when they need him! Ben has a lot of heart and I can't wait to see his progression as we go into U8's! I'm extremely proud of you for coming into the team after only a few training sessions and giving me your best! You will always be my little super star! Well done Ben awesome 2016!

Harry Williams, Harry has had a fantastic season for us, he came into the team really unconfident and didn't really want to run at the defenders, his attack he would give his best but his confidence stopped him pushing forward. Now Harry is a brilliant defender and he is improving weekly, Harry really has started coming into his own. In attack Harry runs confident with the ball and always has a massive smile on his face as he's running. You have made huge improvements this season Harry and I'm extremely proud of how far you have come with your confidence, defence and attack. You have made some cracking off loads, and you really are gaining some fantastic footwork! Well done Harry awesome 2016!
