Pilkington Recs U18s have emulated the first team, by securing promotion to the Premier Division for 2020 after a 22-18 win against Kells.
It wasn't a good start from Pilks, as they went 12-0 down after just five minutes, as they struggled to deal with the speed in attack from the Cumbrians.
However, going 12-0 down sparked them into life and they recovered to lead 18-12 at the break, after some moments of individual brilliance.
In the second half, they stepped up their efforts defensively and Kells pushed for an equalising try, but it was Pilks who scored next after forcing a mistake in the corner.
The Cumbrians then threatened a grand stand finish with a try of their own with just a few minutes to go. But Pilks held on for a priceless victory in Wigan.
Celebrations would continue long into the night, and they can now celebrate a return to the Premier Division.
