Today pilks where back on home soil ready for a tough test against a strong aggressive Widnes side. From the word go pilks where right at it on the attack with some hard drives from Leo and lovely hands from Isaac and Riley and to start the game with a try in the corner but with the lovely hands that pilks showed their defence was outstanding with every single player working hard for each other with some big strong tackles and pushing them back and keeping them out for a turnover. Are star hooker Tyler Smith was missing today due to illness but Toby and Isaac stepped up to the plate and did a great job between them. Pilks again was on the attack with tommy taking a run near his try line through a dummy to foul all the defence and stright through a gap to go the length of the field. The kids today showed great sport fighting for each other give windes hardly a sniff at the tryline with going in to the last 10 minutes 36-8 up but the last 10 minutes was hard on them after giving so much in the game Widnes scored 3 more trys but still pilks did some great try line defence with a huge from Leo Briers that could of been measured on the Richter scale keeping them out Toby went on a great run from his own try line going in and out of players to go over for his own try. Pilks ended the game winning 48 -20 showing off some great rugby skills. Special mention to Oliver on his 1st week playing rugby and he got stuck in and didn't look out of place and I'm sure will become a star in the next couple of weeks. Man of the match today was Tommy Moores with a great effort of 30 tackles and 4 trys. And the star player this week was Nathan Howard who showed great defence tackling anything that came to him. This week though every single player was outstanding and should be proud of thier performance and have sure set thier standards for the games to come. Great win today you all did your coach proud
