Pilkington Recs claimed a fourth straight home win after beating Barrow Island at Ruskin Drive.
They took the lead with just five minutes on the clock. Tom Connick went for the line himself from dummy half and got over. Kyran Knapper converted for a six-point lead.
Just past the 20-minute mark, Barrow got themselves back in it, but missed the kick, so Pilks still held a slender lead.
But two brilliant tries from Aidyn Jones in the final minutes of the half put Pilks in a commanding position at the break.
The first saw Josh O'Connell kick into space from the halfway line, and Jones raced onto the ball and was able to get to the line. Knapper couldn't convert this time.
And with the final act of the half, came another brilliant try. Callum Derrick was able to break up to the halfway line, before flinging a pass out wide, and O'Connell was able to get the ball to Jones, who sped past the defence to score his second. Knapper converted for a 12-point lead at the break.
The second half didnt get off to the best of starts. George Hannan was sent to the sin bin for a crusher tackle.
But just two minutes after that, came the hosts' fourth try. The ball was passed to Knapper in space, who went over. He then converted his own try off the post.
Just before the hour mark came another Pilks try. They kept the ball alive again really well close to the line - Connick kicked it forward, while O'Connell was able to keep it alive before getting the ball to Harry Coleman, who scored. Knapper couldn't convert this time.
Barrow then got themselves into double figures just past the hour.
But just a few minutes later, Pilks were in again. Coleman turned provider this time, offloading to Derrick, who ran half the length of the field to score. Knapper was back amongst the goals this time.
The visitors then added a third try with 10 minutes left on the clock.
The scoring for Pilks was then wrapped up by Elliot Martin, as he supported George Hannan's break to go over for the try. Knapper added the conversion.
There was one more Barrow Island try to add a bit of respectability to the score, but it was Pilks who ran out winners.
This weekend's results have left Pilks in a three-way tie for second place, alongside Dewsbury Celtic and Clock Face Miners. All three teams are locked on 14 points.
Pilks next game sees them make the short journey to Clock Face a week on Saturday in what could be a crucial match.
