Pilks made six changes from the side that was beaten at East Leeds a fortnight ago. Lewis Griffiths, Aidyn Jones, Tom Connick and Ian Mather all came out of the side, while Jack Tinsley, Kobi Prescott, Nathan Livesey, Jamie Smith, Zak Hopkins and Richard Rafferty all came in.

After a scrappy opening, it was the visitors who took the lead, with their winger going over.

Soon after, Oulton had a man in the bin after they'd given away a couple of penalties in quick succession.

Just two minutes later, Pilks responded. They worked it well out to the wing, and Tinsley was out over for a level game.

Whilst still a man down, Oulton hit back after the halfback got through a gap and planted the ball down.

Pilks responded just two minutes into the second half. Tom Eastwood managed to get a run, and charged over the line. Josh O’Connell converted for a level game.

With the game hanging on a knife edge, Pilks elected to take the two points, O’Connell putting Pilks in front for the first time after Oulton were caught offside.

Things got even better soon after, when Eastwood went out of dummy half from short range for his second try.

But with five minutes to go, Oulton struck. A break through middle left Pilks short of numbers defensively, and while the original break was stopped, they did eventually get over. The scores were level once again.

Then with 90 seconds left, Oulton kicked a drop goal to put them back in front. They held on through a tense finale to claim victory.

Pilks now have a week off again before they welcome league leaders Kells to Ruskin Drive.
