The first 30 minutes was spent with both team testing each other with the only scoring chances being two missed penalty attempts by Brook.

The dealock was broken five minutes before the half, with Brook taking advantage of an overlap on their left wing for centre Greg Hale to score in the corner.

A half time roasting by Recs coach Haggerty seemed to do the trick, as the team responded through Ste Charlson within 2 minutes of the restart after he crashed on to a Ryan Liptrot pass and spun out of the tackle to score a well earned try. Ryan Hilliard converted to give Recs a 6-4 lead.

However, the expected resurgence from Recs never came to the fore, with the Boardman Laners camping in the Recs half for long periods. A combination of ill discipline and naive rugby by Pilks helped keep Brook on the front foot, and they re-took the lead after Dave Llewyllen broke through from a neat Lee Marsh pass and scored by the posts. Marsh converted to make it 6-10

Recs tried to claw back the game, but over anxious play saw chances go begging and a solid Blackbrook line held firm.

Lee Marsh tagged a penalty goal and drop goal in the final 10 minutes to complete the scoring.
