Wigan St. Pats 6 - 3 Pilkington Recs

On a sunny Saturday morning Pilks travelled to Wigan St Pats to play one of the opening games before the St Pats open age took on the Royal Marines in a charity fun day.

Despite the change of days from our usual Sunday morning Pilks had a great turn out and all the players put in 100% with just a few lapses of concentration causing quick turnovers and gifted St Pats couple of tries.

Pilks showed passion from the start with Josh Burton going over for the 1st of his two well deserved tries, on only Pilks second run of the match!

Great tackling from the start by Daniel Tabern and Josh Thiselton held the St Pats team from crossing the line, the team were working together with some great passing and an awesome break from Charlie Swift which put him in for the second Pilks try of the match and how fantastic was it to see all the players wanting runs and getting stuck in on all the tackles!

Aaron Cranny put in his best performance to date, Cameron Cranny, Rebecca Benthom and Jacob Wilding all giving the team valuable metres on the day.

Fantastic tackling by Max Tracey and Jack Bailey who threw himself into the game with masses of enthusiasm, kept the St Pats scoreline down. Ethan Moore proved he is slotting into the team nicely with some great runs.

Although we lost on the day we can take great pride in how well the team is improving with every game.

All this couldn't be done without the hard work from our two great coaches, Chris and Graham, who give up their valuable time and give our kids the support they need which shows every match day when they all turn up with a smile eager to play!

As we say 'there's always next week'.. can't wait for the next Game!!!
