What a Match! Fantastic team performance from all the players in a match played in great spirit by both sides!

The team were in fine spirit when they turned up this morning ready for a tough game against Wigan St Cuthberts.

You could tell from the minute they took to the field they were out to enjoy themselves!

Right from the start Pilks showed how they had taken notes from this weeks training with their defence much improved on last week!

Big tackles from Patrick Buckley and Joshua Thiselton kept out some quick St Cuthberts players, and some fantastic running by Rebecca Benthom (who was extremely brave when taking a big knock in the second half!), Jack Bailey and Ethan Moore got Pilks close to the line on more than one occasion.

Despite excellent tackling all round the speed of St Cuthberts managed to twice break down the strong Pilks defence in the first half, but a fantastic solo try by Joshua Thiselton put Pilks 2-1 down at half time, but still full of confidence for the second half.

Aaron Cranny showed how much he is improving week to week with some great runs, helped by Cameron Cranny, Jacob Wilding and Luc Holloway to once again get Pilks forward.

Charlie Swift, after throwing a great dummy to confuse the St Cuthberts defence, showed great footwork to cross the line in the second half for Pilks. Max Tracey again showed his speed going forward with a fabulous try in the corner.

Some more big tackles by Reece Boadey and Patrick Buckley kept Pilks in the game and at 5-3 down with one more play of the ball Joshua Thiselton came in the corner for his second try of the match .

Team spirit after the game was high and all the players told the coaches how much they enjoyed themselves. Despite a loss this was one of the best performances Pilks have put in so far this season, a sign that the hard work Chris and Graham constantly put in is paying off.

Looking forward to next weeks match at Blackbrook!!
