WHAT A PERFORMANCE this morning, outstanding character shown by each and every player, how proud did they make us!!

With a smaller than usual squad Pilks took to the pitch against a much larger and quite imposing Blackbrook side.

Needless to say Pilks started in awe of their quick opposition, and Brook showed by running onto the play of the ball they were hitting our defence with such speed they gave us quite a few problems early on in the match, particularly by their big players.

However Pilks held their heads up high and grouped together as a team. With each run they got stronger, and as their tackles started to count their confidence grew volumes!

As Chris said at the end of the match its a pity they all couldn't have trophies!

The trophy winners were:

Daniel Tabern was awesome. Waiting patiently on each play of the ball he showed incredible speed to break through a tough Blackbrook defence not once but 3 times, and was a well deserved Man of the Match.

Patrick Buckley put on some amazing runs but once again his tackling shone through, and again more than deserved the Top Tackler Trophy.Keep it up Pat!

Luc Holloway put in some massive tackles today, as well as great runs and was awarded the Most Improved Player, Well done Luc!

The rest of the team all put in performances worthy of mentions!:

Jack Bailey proved you don't have to be a big player to cause the opposition problems, with his darting runs giving his team a great advantage on more than one occasion, one of the best games yet for Jack!

Joshua Burton again showed fabulous footwork darting from side to side, weaving through the opposition and scored a wonderful try, another proud moment for Josh!

Max Tracey is getting stronger with each match. His awareness today of the opposition resulted in yet another try to add to his tally, and some strong tackles should give him further confidence.

Rebecca Benthom showed today why she matches each and every boy in the team. The only girl she showed speed and wasn't afraid to run at the big Brook pack. After her injury in the last match we were all incredibly proud of her today!

Joshua Thiselton once again threw himself into the match. Crying out for runs he broke through the oppostion gaining valuable meters, taking some hard tackles which he matched with his own great tackling and is improving match by match.

Charlie Swift was again his powerful self. Running onto the ball he powered into the Brook pack and with the team backing him was unlucky not to score on more than one occasion. His tackling on the line kept Pilks in the match. Great work!

Jacob Wilding showed right from the start today how much he was up for the game, shouting for the ball he ran hard and fast at the Brook side causing them problems on more than one occasion, great performance today.

As the match went on Pilks showed how much they are coming together as a team. Their defence was praised on more than one occasion by the Brook coaching staff and they should all be immensely proud today,as we all are :)

Lets keep it up next week when we're back at home! Go the Redamberandblacks!
