Good solid teamwork gave Pilks the upper hand against a hard working Shevington side.

After last weeks high pace , breath taking performance at Blackbrook the Pilks team produced a much more steady performance this morning against a relatively new Shevington side.

From the start Pilks took advantage of a knock on with Max Tracey pouncing on the loose ball to take him over the line with the first of his two tries of the game, and producing a well deserved Man of the Match performance.

Despite Shevington setting a good defensive line Pilks proved to be too strong with Patrick Buckley and Joshua Burton both powering over the line in the first half and giving Pilks a lead at half time.

Patrick Buckley put in a tackling performance to match the super league sides putting in a total of 16 tackles, absolutely fantastic.

Pilks took to the field for the second half with Charlie Swift, Cameron Cranny and Luc Holloway powering up the middle gaining the team valuable ground, and Joshua Thiselton twice showing good footwork to side step past the Shevington team and get Pilks to the oppostion line. With Reece Boadey, Ethan Moore and Daniel Tabern all taking on the Shevington side with ball in hand and scoring 3 great individual tries Pilks put on one of their best team performances to date.

Jack Bailey once again showed how much he is coming on, showing no fear as he ran at much bigger opponents and Rebecca Bentham, the only female in the side, matched all her team mates with big tackles and great forward runs.

A special mention goes to Daniel Sutton who played his first match today for Pilks and put in a good strong performance, with some great runs and proving he isn't afraid to get involved in the tackles. Fabulous first game.

Pilks U8s are now showing they're no longer the 'new team on the block' and they are bonding with each training session and match showing the future is bright for the Pilks Kids.
