Attack was the name of the game today!

On a warm and sunny Sunday morning Pilks had a great turn out against a small but strong Eccles side.

Playing 8 a side the match started at full speed , which was the name of the game up to the final whistle.

With each team seemingly scoring on each set it turned into an exciting end to end match and if it hadn't been for Eccles awesome defence stopping Pilks attack on the line on no less than 4 occasions the match could easily have gone Pilks way.

Although our defence put on one of the best team efforts we've seen they struggled to match the big lads of Eccles, especially the number 3 who had an amazing game and scored a few of his many tries with several of our team clinging onto him as he went over the line!

Try scorers for Pilks were :
Daniel Tabern with 2 fast and well worked trys, he was unfortunate not to make it more taking a hard tackle on the line.
Rebecca Benthom went over for Pilks first try and put in a solid performance as usual earning her the Man of the Match trophy.
Josh Burton nipped under Eccles defence to score another great try to add to his total this season.
Patrick Buckley and Max Tracey scored two a piece. Patrick broke the Eccles defence and put on some big tackles to keep them out when we were defending sets, Max was todays Captain and also Most Improved Player.

Aaron Cranny put in his best performance yet, strong off the line and making tackles earning the Top Tackler Trophy.
Luc Holloway and Jacob Wilding, two of our most powerful players, pushed forward and gained valuable meters, well done to both of them.
Jack Bailey nipped here there and everywhere and come close to scoring again, as did Ethan Moore who also put in some great tackles.
Daniel Sutton has fitted into the team with ease and provided some great support play as well as some strong runs and Joshua Thiselton was unlucky again not to score taking the ball the full length of the pitch only to be tackled on the line, Josh is also showing great improvement in his tackling game, and made the most tackles today.

All the players really enjoyed themselves and can take pride in how well they are improving match on match. Well done!
