Massive effort and commitment by all involved in a tough fought out match played in ideal conditions this sunday morning.

Pilks U8s turned up in great spirit looking forward putting into practice what they have all been learning in training over the last few weeks.

Despite missing a couple of players we had a great turn out, with Daniel Sutton stepping forward as Captain, and putting in a few great runs showing how well he is fitting into the team.

Playing on a pitch smaller than Pilks ideally like made it hard for some of our smaller players who like to run fast out wide, but despite that all the players put in a lion hearted performance.

From the first whistle Hindley went over the line, but Pilks went on in the next set to score with the talented Daniel Tabern nipping and ducking to score the first of his three tries, and prove what a valuable member of the team he is.

Our big players today took advantage of the small pitch by pushing forward hard and strong, Cameron Cranny managed to almost get to the line with a number on Hindley players trying desperately to bring him down. Luc Holloway, Jacob Wilding and Max Tracey all made fantastic metres , with Max diving over the line to score another great try.

Aaron Cranny and Ethan Moore came fast off the line, with Rebecca Bentham taking some great passes and putting in some big tackles, which earned her a well deserved Man of the Match (or Player of the Match!)

Patrick Buckley was once again back to his best putting in 11 tackles and scoring a fabulous try, proudly earning himself the Top Tackler Trophy.

Jack Bailey and Joshua Burton both put in some strong runs, and were backing up players and providing some great team support.

Joshua Thiselton was unlucky not to score after taking a great offload and running up the pitch to get tackled just before the line, and also putting in 9 great tackles himself and earning todays Most Improved trophy.

The team are now showing how much they are working as a unit, with enthusiasm and commitment to themselves, their coaches and their team mates, a Big Well Done to everyone!

MAN OF THE MATCH: REBECCA BENTHAM
TOP TACKLER: PATRICK BUCKLEY
MOST IMPROVED: JOSHUA THISELTON
