In a change from the norm Pilks played Clock Face and Thatto Heath this morning. Match 1:Pilks v Clock: Match 2:Pilks v Thatto: Match 3:Clock v Thatto

Today was played slightly different than the normal Sunday morning match.

Pilks welcomed both Clock Face and Thatto Heath to Ruskin Drive and all 3 teams played two 20 minute matches in the best of spirit.

Pilks and Clock took to the field first. It was a tough , close drawn match. Two smart tries from Max Tracey and a superb solo try from Daniel Tabern, and some great defending by Joshua Thiselton, Patrick Buckley,Charlie Swift and Ethan Moore, all putting in 6 big tackles a piece, meant Pilks were able to keep the strong Clock team down to 2 tries.

Dylan Haury (who had a great first game) Luc Holloway, Joshua Burton, Jack Bailey and Rebecca Bentham made some great breaks, with Cameron Cranny, Aaron Cranny, Daniel Sutton and Jacob Wilding pushing forward to gain good metres. Pilks played to their strengths and showed how much they are improving game on game to get this win.

The second match showed Pilks once again taking to the field against a strong, well coached Thatto Heath side and once again defence was the name of the game with Thatto defence proving unbreakable. Despite great forward runs close to the line from Daniel Tabern, Patrick Buckley, Rebecca Bentham and Luc Holloway Pilks never managed to get through the strong Thatto line. Cameron Cranny, Jacob Wilding and Daniel Sutton pushed their way forward with Pilks using the width of the pitch on more than one occasion with Joshua Burton, Jack Bailey, Ethan Moore and Dylan providing fabulous support play side stepping their opponents. Ethan Moore and Aaron Cranny were once again superb in defence but big tacklers in this match were Charlie Swift and Joshua Thiselton both again with 6 tackles a piece.

Fabulous defence all round meant the powerful Thatto side only managed to break our line once and the game ended 1-0 to Thatto, with the coaches and parents extremely proud of the marked improvement all round and the fantastic commited team effort by all the players involved today.. Well done everyone!

MAN OF THE MATCH: ETHAN MOORE
