Pilks U8s played some great rugby on a warm October Sunday, winning their first match and coming close in the second

FIRST MATCH: PILKS 8 - ORRELL 2

SECOND MATCH: PILKS 7 - CLOCK FACE 9

On a warm , sunday morning Pilks started in fine form against a big Orrell side. Pilks went in front almost from the off with a try from Max Tracey, and superb defending kept the Orrell team down to 2 tries.

After playing for 40 minutes Pilks almost straight away went back onto the pitch against a well drilled Clock Face team, fatigue hit for the 1st half and Clock , on fresh legs, went ahead, however the second half saw Pilks having their second wind and from 4-1 down Pilks pulled the score to a respectable 7-9 with Clock going on to win the final game V Orrell 6-3.

SAM CADDICK: Sam played today with alot of confidence, he kept running at the oppostion, and played a good support in the tackles.
DANIEL SUTTON: Amother player gaining in confidence Daniel showed no fear in running forward, and gained some good metres.
DYLAN HAURY(1): Dylan made the most of his time with the ball, using his speed down the wing and scoring a great try against Orrell.
KYLE PRESCOT (2): Kyle is settling wellinto the team, he can power forward with ball in hand, and made some fantastic tackles .
ETHAN MOORE: Tackling machine Ethan once again threw himself into the game and was a strong player in Pilks defense.
REECE BOADEY: With fewer games under his belt than most of the team Reece puts all his effort on the pitch and ran and defended well.
AARON CRANNY: Again Aaron tackled fabulously, especially on the line. He is also much more confident when running in with the ball.
CAMERON CRANNY: As one of our big team members Cameron used his power to gain us valuable metres down the pitch!
CHARLIE SWIFT (1): Once again Charlie ran hard and strong, and threw himself into tackles. He scored a fantastic try against Orrell.
DANIEL TABERN (5): What can i say? Five tries again over the two matches for Daniel, his speed up the wing beats the opposition everytime and the results for his efforts are well deserved!
JACK BAILEY: Jack is running in to every tackle and since scoring his first try is showing great confidence with ball in hand. Really well played again today.
JACOB WILDING: Jacob has to be the one player who has really settled down now into the team and is playing with increased confidence every game His support for his team mates is noticable, and his enthusiasm shines through.
JOSHUA BURTON (2): Two tries in the first match saw Joshua constantly backing his team mates up and being ready to catch the offloads and break the opposition defense,. Great play today.
JOSHUA THISELTON: With some great runs and try stopping tackles Josh provided excellent support play today, his quick play of the ball resulted in Pilks scoring more than one try.
LUC HOLLOWAY (2): It was good to see Luc back and at his best today with 2 tries he was unlucky to have another disallowed!
MAX TRACEY (2): Max opened the scoring today and his nifty footwork saw him sidestep the opposition and race up the field to score.
REBECCA BENTHOM: Rebecca again was excellent at backing up, she took many offloads and moved up the pitch. She worked hard in defense and made some great tackles.

With two matches its hard to emphasise how much each player today helped their team mates and each and everyone of them played fabulously, fantastic effort from all.

MAN OF THE MATCH: JACOB WILDING
TOP TACKLER: KYLE PRESCOT
MOST IMPROVED : LUC HOLLOWAY
THE STEVE MATAI TROPHY: REBECCA BENTH0M
