Recs finished there last home game of the year with a impressive display

Pilk's final home game of the year, saw the team produce a clean sheet against a good powerful Oldham side.
Defence has been an area we have focused on for a while now, and today it paid off, the players were like coiled springs, looking to attack the attackers.
To back that up, we had great go forward, and some nice worked set plays created opportunities to score trys.
A special mention goes to Jacob Wilding who scored his first try for the club, well done buddy. And thank you to Charlie Swift & Jack Bailey who went and assisted the opposition, when one of their players picked up an injury. It was nice to see such positive attitudes and fair play.

Kyle Prescott : His strong performance matched the previous week. Kyle was sharp in defence and produced some fine shots. His carries were aggressive and caused Waterhead concern.

Jacob Wilding : Another strong game from Jacob, full blown and committed, rewarded with his first try.

Charlie Swift : Charlie never gives anything less than 110% come game time. Punched holes in Waterheads defence, with his speed and power. Well deserved try.

Aaron Cranny: Aaron was strong in defence leading the line in the middle. And was always on hand to complete a tackle. His running looked strong today.

Jack Bailey : Jack again today was vocal and gave good direction. He's always a threat with ball in hand on the blindside. And was unlucky not to go over for one.

Joshua Burton : Josh has lightening footwork, and Waterhead were unable to contain him. Scored 2 great trys. In defence on the flanks, Josh really stepped up, and nothing got past him.

Daniel Tabern : Another player who was keen in defence, Dan didn't allow Waterhead any time at all. There is much more than speed to Dan's game his footwork was good today.

Max Tracey : Max today was in line with the rest of the team. He put in a great defensive display. Another vocal player, Max showed great balance and pace to score his 2 trys.

Ethan Moore : Ethan's tackling was first rate. His line speed is immense and he shows a real hunger to get there and put a shot on. Its a pleasure to watch. 10 tackles, with 5 tackle assists today. Great set play with Max too.

Rebecca Bentham : Rebecca was very lively with the ball in hand, her pace caused Waterhead allsorts of problems, again another player offering a strong defence.

Sam Caddick : Sam is now playing with a lot more confidence, with a lot more to come, he is showing real promise . His defence in particular was strong and aggressive. Sam was rewarded with the Steve Matai award for a great shot.

Luc Holloway : Luc provided us with some great angled runs which gave us plenty of yards and a different platform to work off and added to the Recs variety of play

The coaches decided today that the whole team should be rewarded with the man of the match, due to their defensive efforts and all round great play

Steve Matai Award: Sam Caddick
Top Tackler: Ethan Moore
Most improved: Charlie Swift
Man of The Match: The whole team

I would also like the opportunity to say a big thank you to Kian's dad who has kindly sponsored the team and bought some very needed trophies. I'm sure all the players will agree this is money well spent!
