Recs couldn't tame the lions but give it a good go.

Today pilks u8's played a good westhoughton side down at Ruskin drive, the lads turned up in a good mood for rugby and it showed on the pitch. Us coaches asked our boys to go out and enjoy their rugby and make their dads proud of then which they did on fathers day.

Today was a 100% improvement from last week all the boys tackled, ran strong with the ball and worked hard for each other.

In the first half pilks trailed the lions by 5 tries to 2, the try scorers were Codey Massam and Logan king with 2 great tries from their own half.

In the second half pilks stepped up their defence and westhoughton only scored 3 tries but pilks again went over twice with 2 more great tries coming Logan king and Sebastian westwell.

As a coach I can see improvement in the boys week by week and see them bonding as a team.

Captain today was Logan king and he looked like one too with his good running and 2 brilliant tries.

Player of the match went to liam coughlin cause of his strong running that westhoughton struggled to cope with.

Coaches choice went to Sebastian Westwell, Seb had a great game today his running with the ball was good and he did very well in defence. He also scored his first try for pilks recs.

Parents choice went to Codey Massam. Codey had a fantastic game today he scored a good try but best of all his defence was second to none.

Jake Abel had another great game today like always his attack was good but his defence was better. Jake stopped 3 definate tries by himself.

Kyle dancer had another good game with his running with the ball and his passing and support play was great.

Keiron Williams also has another good game this week, his enthusiasm to get dummy half is great and his running and passing are brilliant.

Keep up the good work boys, well done today!
