A very happy father's day

This was probably the best performance I have seen from this young Pilks side and one we all knew they were capable of.
The attitude from the players today was great, from the warm up to the final whistle they were switched on and ready to work.

Early on in the match both sides went try for try and in the first two sets although both sides tackled well neither team could make the stop and it looked like it was going to be a high scoring game but after that both sides upped their defence and points became hard to come by.
Pilks showed their class in attack and got the better of Culcheth, the first half finished four two in Pilks favour.

The second half was a much tighter affair with both teams tackling hard and both teams were guilty of making mistakes probably due to the improved tackling.

The second half finished as a draw with both teams only crossing the line one time each.

This was a great game for a few reason's, great attitude, top defence and five tries all scored by different player's showing this is a team who work for each other and don't just rely on one player, in short they are a team and every member bring's something to the game .

Honorary captain and tackler of the match was Jack McIntyre not only for the amount of tackles but for his tackling style as well keeping his leg drive going after point of contact.

Player of the Match Rohan Heyes did what he always does puts his body on the line and even though he got hurt he still went out and got the next tackle and he added another try to his impressive try tally.

Parents choice Rhys Edwards was good again this week in attack and defence which just shows the character of this young man, to play this well after missing a match with a broken finger.

Joseph Hunter is running strong, lately he has good feet and his side step has really come on, also he showed his bravery today coming back on after he was hurt.

It is easy to forget that Kyle Monteith has only played a few games as he scored again today and looked like a player who as been playing for years.

Max Nevitt ran well today and did his stint in defence, he is a player that is always smiling and plays the game with such enthusiasm.

Nathan Flynn scored again today and as he does every week works hard on both sides of the ball and always makes good yards with his jinking runs.

Ryan Halsall put in some big hits again today, his strong straight running style was a handful for the opposition this week.

Sam Nevitt another player who is new to the game, got himself on the score board today, he is a big strong player and he run's his size making him a hard player to stop.

Dezi Wilkinson added another try to his tally today running well today, but what impressed me today was how well he did in defence I think he really stepped up his game this week.

Ben Lynch impessed me today showing great attitude, even when he made a mistake he didn't let it get to him he just got on with it and that was great for me to see well done.
