Pilks red hot

This was the best Pilks performance to date by a long way, it had everything you could ask for good line speed, set moves, strong set up runs and some great passing.

Langworthy are a relatively new side after having to rebuild after loosing a lot of their players to their close rivals, but this doesn't mean they didn't have good players who ran strong and tackled well and especially in the first half, they made Pilks work for their tries and it was Pilks set moves that unlocked a good Langworthy defence.

The first half was a tight affair which saw Pilks holding Langworthy out with a relentless defence and the first half finished two tries to nil in Pilks favour.
In the second half Pilks kept up their relentless defence and started to take control with some great attack as well.
Pilks really started to show their class in attack, using their set moves to great affect but also keeping the ball alive very well also.

The second half finished five one in Pilks favour.

There was so many pleasing things about todays performance, probably the most pleasing was the defence every child was up for it and all played for each other but also I am starting to mention this every week and that's the fact that we had so many different try scorers, seven tries and five different scorers you can't ask for more than that.

Honorary captain Joseph hunter lead the team really well and was one of the children that was in the mix for top tackler this week.

Player of the match Nathan Flynn had one of his best matches I have seen him play, scoring two tries and protecting the wing like his life depended on it.

Tackler of the match was George Donoghue, after getting praise last week for his determination in attack, this week it was his defence that caught the eye really putting his body on the line time and time again.

Parents choice Rohan Heyes showed his speed and great side step to score his two tries but what impressed me his how he never give up on a tackle tracking back and saving at least a couple of tries.

Kyle Monteith added another try to his tally this week but I just love they way he stands players up in a tackle with his deceptive strength he just stops players in their tracks.

Max Nevitt showed his bravery this week after taking a knock he left the field for less than a minute and he was back on having an active roll in defence and he ran really well this week strong and straight down the middle.

Ryan Halsall showed his strength in defence and was consistent in making good yards, also he showed his unselfish side with a great pass to set up a try.

Sam Nevitt is a player that is so big and strong he is a nightmare for any opposition and this week was no difference adding another try to his tally.

Dezi Wilkinson was like a wrecking ball this week just running over players and leaving them in his wake.

Jack McIntyre was his usual consistent performer scoring again this week but he was also top of the tackle count , Jack just loves everything about the game, attacking and defending and he can do it all.

The boys set the bar really high this week and I hope they can keep it up in the coming weeks well done keep it up
