Pilks tame the cat's

Pilk's faced a very good chorley side last sunday and because the teams were so close skill wise this lead to a great game of rugby league.
Pilk's had good number's last week and chorley was down to the bare numbers and if any team know how hard it is when you don't have sub's our very few sub's it's pilk's, so I have full respect for how chorley played and handled themselve's.
Pilk's were caught knapping in the very first set and chorley went round the outside of our defence to score very early on.
Then both defence's got in to there stride and the game tightened right up, pilk's did manage to cross the try line and the first third finished 1 try apiece.

The second third pilk's managed to keep chorley out and score a try so the second third finished 1 nil to pilk's and both sets of coach's were very pleased with there team's and for me and dave we couldn't be happier with the fact that we managed to keep out a good attacking side.

The last third was high scoring compared to the rest of the match and I think it was a combination of fatigue from chorley and the fact pilk's picked up the physicality pushing chorley back at time's and this combination of the two factor's I believe lead to pilk's winning the last third 3 trie's to 2 and winning the match 5-3.

Ryhs Edwards was the honorary captain and really lead by example in both attack and defence.

Player of the match jack McIntyre was his usual self scoring a try and was top of the tackle count to boot.

Ryan Halsall was awarded tackler of the match not just for the number of tackles but also for his uncompromising style of tackling.

Parents choice Dezi Wilkinson hit's has hard as anyone I have seen and when he gets ball in hand is just like a wrecking ball.

With good performance's from Joseph Hunter, Kyle Montieth, Ben Lynch, Leon Griffin, Samual Nevitt, Maxwell Nevitt, Nathan Flynn, George Donohue, and Rohan Heyes this was a great team performance and was a great game to be involved in and a lot of credit has to go to chorley for making us feel so welcome and something I was really proud of was the complement's there coaching staff gave to us about the attitude and skill level of our player and the attitude of our parent's and coach's so a big pat on the back to everyone involved and a big thankyou for believing in everything we are trying to do at pilk's

well done keep it up
