Pilk's slay the Dragon's but only just

Today Pilk's were away to Atherton and the early kick off didn't seem to suit to Pilk's because even though we had a good warm up Pilk's were caught napping on the first possession and went one nil down early on, but it didn't take long for Pilks to hit back and the game was tied up one a piece.
Pilk's did concede the next try and left me scratching my head how we were two nil down as I thought we was the better team.
Before the half was over Pilk's did cross the line again and the first half finished two tries a piece.

The second half was again another tight affair which went down to the wire, both teams had crossed the line and the game poised at three tries all when with only a couple of minutes left, Dezi powered his way over in the corner to win the match.

This was a close game in my opinion for two reason's, first was Pilk's switched off now and again and got punished for it and the controversial call's and no calls which obviously frustrated our players especially Jack who found it hard to keep his emotion's bottled up.

Honorary captain Leon Griffin took on the line really strong this week and put some good one on one tackles against much bigger player's

Player of the match Samual Nevitt was on fire this week, he was devastating with ball in hand and upped his defence this week as well.

Maxwell Nevitt received the tackler of the match this week because he really upped the amount of tackles he made this week and his contact a also a lot better.

Parents choice Kyle Monteith impressed me this week because he started to tuck the ball under his arm when going into contact which is something we have been trying to get him to do for a number of week's.

Nathan Flynn had another strong game this week and topped the tackle count this week and has become one of the lads who we take for granted because he is so consistently good.

Ryan Halsall had another strong game again this week in defence and made good yards on every carry.

Rhys Edwards was unlucky not to score two tires it was only his unselfish play, trying to get his mate in for the try that stopped him getting two.

The last couple of weeks we have seen the best of Dezi Wilkinson he really solidifies the middle for us and is really hard to stop when he get's going.

George Donohue was a bit under the weather this week but put his hand up to play and he was good in contact and took the line on well.

Rohan Heyes our very own smiling assassin double figures again this week and is so fast and great foot work make him hard to play against and this week was no exception.

Oliver Hollingsworth has been a good addition to team scoring his second try for the team this week and did his duties in defence.

As I have already mentioned about Jack McIntyre not being to bottle up his emotion, this is because he is such a strong competitor and his frustration on seeming to always being on the wrong side of close decisions is understandable but what impressed me today with Jack was the way he bounced back with a try and his contact in defence was great.

What really impressed me was when we kept the ball alive how well we did it and the crowd seemed to like it and the fact that we scored four tries with four different player's

Well done keep it up
