Pilkiington Rec's u8's 5 - 6 Bank Quay Bull's

This was a great game of rugby to watch but yet again the talking point was a controversial no try that was to be the difference to between a loss for Pilk's or being a well deserved draw which in my eyes would have been the right result for both teams.

It was early in the first half that the no try decision was made but to be fair it is hard to be a ref and I have full respect for anyone who stands up to be counted.

Pilks did play well but at half time unfortunately they were on the wrong end of a 3-1 score line.

The second half was impressive for me because instead of letting the score line get them down Pilk's upped their game and won the second half 4 tiries to 3 but unfortunately this wasn't quiet enough to win the gam, what it did do was show Pilk's have a never say die attitude which is going to keep them in good stead for the future.

honorary captain Rohan Heyes lead from the front scoring two tries and having one adjudged to be short and his performance never went unseen has he was also awarded parents choice.

Player of the match Nathan Flynn was outstanding and was probably one of his best performances to date, I remember thinking half way thought the first half that he was on fire and his performance stayed high all the way through the game.

Tackler of the match Leon Griffin was really tested out on the wing time and time again and at one point I think he made three or four tackles in a row.

Good game had by Joseph Hunter, Kyle Monteith, Max Nevitt, Ryan Halsall, Rhys Edwards, Sam Nevitt, Dezi Wilkinson, George Donoghue, Jack McIntyre and Oliver Hollingsworth.
