Pilk's defeat the warrior's

With a recent influx of player's Pilk's travelled to Leyland with the biggest squad of the season so far and with Leyland only having one sub it was always going to be hard for the Warriors working against fresh player's all the time but credit were credit's due they fought like warriors to the end .

It was quiet frustrating for Pilk's with so many player's, time on the pitch and run's with the ball were at a premium, but as they were told there is nothing to stop you making tackle's and there was plenty of opportunity for that.

In the first half defence was very good limiting the home side to just a single try and making yard's with relative ease.
Pilk's scored four tries in the first half and let's be honest it could have been more as Pilk's bombed more than one chance by not doing the basic's at times so the first half finished four tries to one in Pilk's favour.

The second half is were Leyland for me lived up to their name, Warriors. They were four one down and Pilk's were in control but they kept battling and even though they were playing up hill, they improved their defence and gave Pilk's a good game in the second half.

Pilk's were guilty again of blowing set moves and not doing the basic's well at time's, but they kept up their defence and contact was good all match.

The second half finished two tries apiece and on the whole it was a good Pilk's performance, but not a perfect one by any means but we have the number's and the commitment of the player's, coaching staff and parent's to make this team great.

Honorary captain and player of the match Kian Robinson was on his debut but he made an impact straight from minute one tackling like a seasoned pro and cutting the defence apart with his quick feet and jinking run's he also scored, not bad for a lad who as never played a match before.

Tackler of the match Carl Grimley another player who made an immediate, impact also scoring on his debut and also high up in the tackle count.

Parents choice Ryan Middlehurst last but not least of the trio making their debut, also had a big impact with his size and strength he was a nightmare for their defence, he also was high on the tackle count and started off his scoring tally with two tries.

With good performance's from Joseph Hunter (who I am sad to announce say's he doesn't want to play anymore , let's just hope he just need's some time off and come's back to us next season) Ben Lynch, Leon Griffin, Maxwell Nevitt, Samual Nevitt,
Nathan Flynn, Ryan Halsall, Rhys Edwards, Dezi Wilkinson, George Donoghue (who was so close to his first try I think we all would have taken a loss to give him that try) Rohan Heyes, Jack McIntyre and last but not least Oliver Hollingsworth.

The pleasing thing for me was again there was multiple try scorer's, but as an added bonus there was tries from all our debut player's making the statement that they are not just here to make up the number's but they are here to make a difference well done keep it up
